Think before you think.

I just moved to a new city. New house, new people, new places! Everything is new but something is still the same, the way people think.

While sitting in a cafĂ© with a friend, he started to talk about a “friend” he dislikes. As the conversation proceeded, I felt he hated “his friend” to a point that he felt he wanted to kill him.
My friend’s life revolved around “his friend”; thinking about him, his wrongdoings.

I felt concerned seeing the way he thinks. After all, thoughts are a form of future actions. The foundation of actions. The subtle form of actions.

We are aware of how we behave and act with people but totally unmindful of the thoughts we carry. Obviously, no one can read your mind but what ‘I feel’ is, one doesn’t have to necessarily “perform” some action to get started in the cycle of karma. Karma is not just actions. We sow seeds of thoughts and the tree is our “visible” action. The fruits are happiness or misery.

My experience suggests that the kind of people and situations we attract is a by-product of “thoughts” we carry.

So, we must keep an eye on our thoughts. I started with watching my thoughts, and gradually I could choose what to think. In fact, there were moments when I was able to drop all my thoughts and felt so relaxed. It was WOW.
