Just Be and Stop Becoming

This time of the year, we are wishing each other a happy new year and a better 2021. We are keeping fingers crossed and wishing that 2021 isn’t like 2020. These texts and wishes started to make me think and that’s when I decided to write this post.

Most times, we are craving for the next moment. This automatically makes us dissatisfied with the moment we are in. And we are trying to become something – Another job post, some other house, more dreams...

I have started to practice a simple mantra – Just Be, Stop Becoming.

Just be in the moment and live this moment with totality – Just be fully involved in all current actions and stop thinking about next moment. Now, that action can be anything – just a simple walk, or cooking food, or eating / drinking, sitting with people. Reduce the distractions and be in the moment.

The problem is not with reaching out for better things in life – but this incessant habit of always hankering for something.

This very simple act of being “total” in the moment has been a life changing experience for me. Slowly the actions disappear and you can be total in the moment with closed eyes – A peaceful and contented state.

Life is uncertain as 2020 has already taught us and there is no better time to look inwards and start an inner journey… Wishing you a peaceful 2021.
